The article describes the contemporary art from the young and emerging talents in India. Topics covered include a historical background on the art in India, examples of artists who were path breakers in their use of media, concepts and representational codes and the impact of the influx of mass media in the country on artists during the 1990s. The use of the Internet by young Indian artists is also discussed.
