  • The article focuses on "Fuck Paintings," a series of artworks created by the American artist Betty Tompkins between 1969 and 1974. The art pieces are influenced by foreign pornographic images imported by her then-husband, the feminist movement which promoted positive depictions of the female body, and the use of the appropriation strategy identified with photorealism. The comparison of Tompkins' works with the painting "Achrome with Bread Rolls," by Piero Manzoni is offered.
