  • The article features the painting titled "John Collier: Fort Kent, Maine (vicinity). Salvage drive for scrap metal at 4:30 p.m." created by the American artist Lisa Ruyter in 2014. Ruyter was influenced by a single photograph taken by John Collier in 1942 and represented a history of economic depression and war. The relationship of Ruyter's painting to photography is discussed.
