  • The article presents a profile and discusses the work of the Chilean artist Alfredo Jaar. The author presents a broad overview of Jaar's career, beginning with works he created as a young artist during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Individual works discussed include "Studies on Happiness," "The Rwanda Project" and "The Pergamon Project/An Aesthetics of Resistance." It is noted that a three-venue retrospective exhibition of Jaar's works has been organized by the Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst in Berlin, Germany.
