  • The article discusses the relationship between visual arts and dance. The author discusses the artistic nature of folk dance and suggests that artists work with dance as part of the common practices movement. Other topics include social and communal aspects of dance, plastic art in the 1990s and 2000s relating to modern and postmodern dance, and popular dance in 21st-century art. Also discussed are painter and dancer Rudolf Laban, postmodern dancer Anna Halprin, and artist Rirkrit Tiravanija.
