The article presents annotations on possible ideas on contemporary Brazilian painting based on the technical explorations of image construction found in the works of Brazilian painters Leda Catunda, Daniel Senise, Rodrigo Andrade and Beatriz Milhazes. Catunda refers to his work as maternal painting due to their warm and comforting materiality. The canvas collages by Senise are described as germinating metaphysical structures. Andrade's work deals with the building blocks of painting, while Milhazes exhibits diverse elements and art-historical references.
