Resumen de Um ambiente computacional para avaliação cognitiva em portadores de deficiência física

Dinalva Rodrigues, Heloísa Vieira da Rocha, Rui Kiyoshi Miadaira

  • Intelligence evaluation, or cognitive assessmente, has its history attached to the social necessity of understanding human behavior. The evaluation of the intellectual ability of physically challenged people with speech difficulties is a persistent obstacle in the remediation and education of this population. In this paper we discuss the role of the computer as an auxiliary tool for psychologists and teachers in the cognitive assessment process. The main aspect in our considerations are the difficulties of physically challenged people in doing many tests where motor skills are critical factors. We describe a computational environment which generates cognitive tests. This system is being developed at the Computer Science Departament (DCC) and Nucleus of Informatics Applied to Education (NIED), Campinas State University (UNICAMP).
