Desde el paisaje que los torreños moldearon bajo el dominio de la Orden de Calatrava y hasta el que conocieron sus habitantes a finales del siglo XVI, se produjeron importantes transformaciones derivadas fundamentalmente del crecimiento demográfico. De esos aspectos trata el presente trabajo. En él se analizan las roturaciones de tierras como solución para atender ese aumento poblacional, así como los enfrentamientos entre ganaderos y agricultores en su lucha por un mismo espacio, el proceso de desforestación y las inquietudes ecológicas del concejo como factores determinantes de esos cambios en el medio.

From the landscape that the “torreños” molded under the command of the order of Calatrava and even the one who knew its inhabitants at the end of the sinxteenth century, there were important transformations derived mainly from the population growth. Of these aspects deal with the present work. In the analysis of land breaks as a solution to address this population increase, as well as the clashes between ranchers and farmers in their struggle to the same space. The process of deforestation and the ecological concerns of the council as determinants of these changes in the environment.
