    The lack of data and objectivity with regard to probiotics does not allow community pharmacists to give informed advice. A survey was carried out in an attempt to make their use more objective. The opinion of a doctor specialising in nutrition was also sought. It is clear that there is a wide range of products claiming to be probiotic. When the 2006 law relating to food supplements is applied, products which do not live up to their claims will probably be withdrawn from the market.

    Le manque de données et de recul existant sur les probiotiques ne permet pas aux pharmaciens d’officine de tenir un discours universel. Pour tenter d’objectiver leur utilisation, une enquête a été réalisée auprès d’eux. L’avis d’un médecin nutritionniste a, de plus, été recueilli. Il est aisé de constater l’existence d’un large panel de gammes se revendiquant probiotiques. Lorsque le décret d’application de la loi de 2006 concernant les compléments alimentaires paraîtra, les produits ne répondant pas aux allégations se verront probablement retirés du marché.
