  • Resumen
    • Sicily constitutes one of the Italian regions in which the debate around the organ donation is more dynamics since, if from a side the rate of donors is clearly still inferior in comparison to areas of the country, from the other one a constant increase of the reported data to the interventions of transplantation is annually recorded realized. In this framework, it engages the role of the migrants who reside in the island. Thanks to a research promoted and funded by AIDO (Italian Association of Organ Donation), has been possible to investigate and understand what role they can potentially play some of the migrant communities in the two neighbouring provinces of Catania and Ragusa, if involved inside appropriate information policies, communication and awareness campaign. The surveyed communities were Mauritians and Senegaleses in Catania and Islamic in the provinces of Catania and Ragusa. This work has been done considering the complexity of cultural and community structures investigated, in which frequently coexist ethnic roots, religious and linguistic extremely heterogeneous among the communities.
