Las legislaciones en torno al mundo funerario fue una preocupación constante para la Provincia, como lo demuestra su proliferación. Por otra parte, la mujer encontraba en el mundo funerario una salida a su exigua vida social y una forma de alardear en un ambiente de competición social y emulación. Los conflictos entre ellas por estas razones eran constantes,en especial dentro de la iglesia y sobre el yarleku. El clero supo sacar ganancia de ello, alentando a hacer las clases de honras más costosas y solemnes. La conducción del cadáver, y posteriormente los cementerios, también mostraban el prestigio social del muerto.

Legislation surrounding the funerary world was a constant preoccupation for the Province as shown by its proliferation. On the other hand, the funerary world provided women with an outlet for their meagre social life and a way of boasting in an atmosphere of social competition and emulation. The confl icts between them for these reasons were constant, in particular in church and surrounding the yarleku (pew). The clergy knew how to profi t from it, and were encouraged to make the rites more expensive and ceremonious. The conveying of the corpse, and later the cemeteries also displayed the social prestige of the deceased.
