Resumen de La sexualidad en jóvenes universitarios:: factores de riesgo

  Se presentan los principales resultados obtenidos a partir de la aplicación del Examen de Salud Integral (ESI) a los alumnos de nuevo ingreso a la Universidad Veracruzana, con el objetivo de detectar factores de riesgo en cuan- to a comportamientos sexuales. Los resultados indican que más de la mitad de la población, al momento del estudio, no había iniciado actividades sexuales y por otra parte, de la población que está teniendo relaciones sexuales, un por- centaje considerable, no utiliza condón de forma sistemática cada vez que tiene relaciones sexuales, además de practicar conductas sexuales riesgosas. A partir de estos resultados se proponen estrategias para prevenir los comportamientos de riesgo detectados.

  The main results obtained from the application of the Integral Health Test to the new students of the Universidad Veracruzana are presented here for the pur- pose of detecting risk factors regarding sexual behavior. The results indicate that more than half of the student population, at the time of this study, had not initia- ted sexual activities; on the other hand, a considerable percentage of the popu- lation engaging in sexual intercourses, does not systematically use a condom every time they have sexual relations; additionally, they practice risky sexual behavior. From these results, strategies are proposed to prevent the risky kinds of behavior detected.
