Un vecino de Villafranca de los Barros inmerso en el sumario del asesinato del presidente Prim

    Nos situamos en el convulso siglo XIX de las guerras carlistas y la confabulación de las diferentes tendencias políticas para destronar a la reina Isabel II y así ostentar el poder de España, y que desencadenó en el morboso episodio del fatídico final del general Prim, presidente del Consejo de Ministros, que llevó una vida frenética hasta el último momento de su vida. Esta ciudad no puede pasar por alto al coronel Felipe Solís Campuzano que fue hombre de confianza del duque de Montpensier que tenía aspiraciones a ocupar el trono de España. Solís poseía una finca en Villafranca de los Barros y al ser acusado de estar involucrado en el atentado huyó de la justicia llevándose consigo como ayudante en la aventura a uno de los trabajadores de tal finca conocida como Molino Abajo. El trabajador en cuestión, vecino de esta villa, pasó a ser titular de la finca de Solís con posterioridad. En diciembre de 2019 se cumplen ciento cuarenta y nueve años del enigmático suceso que conmocionó al país y que a día de hoy continúa siendo un misterio ante la incertidumbre de la identidad de los auténticos planificadores y ejecutores del magnicidio.

    Now we are in the tumultuous nineteenth century of the Carlist Wars and the conspiracy of the different political trends in order to dethrone the queen Elizabeth II and in this way hold power in Spain, and triggered in the morbid episode of the fateful final of General Prim, president of the Council of Ministers, who led a frenetic life until the last moment of his life.

    This city cannot ignore the Colonel Felipe Solís Campuzano who was the man of confidence of the Duke of Montpensier, who had ambition to occupy the throne in Spain. Solís owned a estate in Villafranca de los Barros and when he was accused of being involved in the attack escaped from the justice by taking as assistant in the adventure one of the workers of this farm known as Molino Abajo. The worker concerned, neighbour of this village, became the owner of Solís’s farm subsequently. December of 2019 will mark one hundred and forty nine years since the enigmatic event which outraged the country and nowadays is still a mystery due to uncertainty of the identity of the true planners and responsible of the assassination.
