The research aimed to understand how the teachers understand the factors that influence the interest in reading the students of the final grade of the José Teixeira municipal school in the city of Tuntum - MA, Brazil. Reading needs to be reflected in its importance and defined as a line of work that overcomes the lack of encouragement of students in reading and of teachers' conditions in developing a work committed to the information of the man on reading. Investigating the factors involved in the teaching-learning process, and specifically in the student's interest in reading becomes a differential factor when it is possible to reflect on the elements that influence the quality of student learning.

A pesquisa se propôs entender como os professores entendem sobres os fatores que influenciam no interesse pela leitura dos alunos das séries finais do ensino fundamental do colégio municipal José Teixeira na cidade de Tuntum – MA, Brasil. A leitura precisa ser refletida em sua importância e definida enquanto linha de trabalho que supere a falta de estímulo dos alunos em ler e de condições dos professores em desenvolver um trabalho comprometido com a informação do homem sobre a leitura. Investigar os fatores envolvidos no processo ensino-aprendizagem, e, especificamente, no interesse do aluno pela leitura torna-se um fator diferencial quando é possível a refletir sobre os elementos que influenciam na qualidade da aprendizagem do aluno.
