Anhand des seltenen Genres floraler Rollengedichte aus Silke Scheuermanns Band Skizze vom Gras (2014) untersucht dieser Beitrag poetische Imaginationen pflanzlicher Rede. Deren Besonderheit liegt in ihrer metapoetischen Reflexion: Während die Blumen den Leser adressieren und das menschliche Naturverhältnis kritisieren, animieren sie ihn, sein begrifflich-hierarchisierendes Denken zu transzendieren – und führen das unvermeidliche Scheitern performativ vor Augen. Indem sie die konventionelle 'Blumensprache' und traditionelle Konzepte von 'Natursprache' modifizieren und intertextuell auf Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, T.S. Eliot u. a. referieren, inszenieren die sprechenden Blumen eine pflanzliche, biozentrische Poetik und erweitern das Ausdrucksspektrum der Naturlyrik.

This contribution examines the rare genre of lyrical monologues spoken by flowers (as found in Silke Scheuermann’s collection Skizze vom Gras, 2014) in order to analyze the poetic expressions of vegetal speech. This collection’s peculiarity lies in its metapoetic reflections: Utilizing reader address to criticize humans’ relationship with nature, the flowers urge the readers to transcend their conceptual and hierarchical thinking, and, in so doing, these vegetal speakers perform the inevitable failure of this attempt. By modifying the conventional 'language of flowers' and traditional concepts of the 'language of nature', and by referencing the works of Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, T.S. Eliot and others, the speaking flowers enact a vegetal biocentric poetics and expand the expressive range of 'nature poetry'
