El treball mostra els aspectes coneguts de la vida del músic Miquel Selma, mestre de capella a les catedrals de Sogorb i Barcelona al segle xvii, a més de la seva mort i tot el que l’envoltà. Es presenten els documents notarials a propòsit de la mort de Selma, això és, el testament i l’inventari i la subhasta dels seus béns. Els documents exposen com devia ser la vida del mestre de capella a casa seva, totes les seves pertinences i les persones que tingué a la vora en el seu traspàs.
This paper describes the aspects known about the life of the musician Miquel Selma, who was the chapel master of the cathedrals of Sogorb and Barcelona in the 17th century, and provides information on his death and everything connected with it. The notarial documents on the death of Selma are presented, namely, his will, the inventory of his belongings and the auction of these possessions. The documents give a picture of the chapel master’s domestic life, of his belongings and of the people who were with him at the time of his death.
