    Este artículo está orientado a evaluar de forma crítica el proceso de conservación, rehabilitación y adaptación a nuevas funciones del Auditorio La Merced (Llerena) y el Teatro Gabriel y Galán (Trujillo), tema que nos permite estudiar los usos posibles de un importante conjunto de edificaciones que han formado parte de la cultura, desde finales del siglo XIX al XXI. Son claves en este estudio tanto su construcción, su restauración y el criterio al que han sido sometidos para su conservación, y si mantienen su función inicial. Es un estudio específico del conjunto de los edificios destinados a la exhibición del cine y al espectáculo teatral para valorar la arquitectura y los usos dados a este abundante patrimonio arquitectónico.

    This article oriented to do a critic evaluation of the processes of conser-vation, rehabilitation and adaptation to new functions of La Merced Auditorium and Gabriel y Galán Theatre, that allows us to study the uses of an important building collection which has been part of our spare time culture, from ends of the 19th century the XXI st. Their construction, their restoration and the criteria that were used in order to conserve them and keep their primary function are keys in this study. It ́s a study of the building collection used for cinema exhibition and theater spectacle and to carry out an assessment of the architecture and the uses given to this plentiful architecture patrimony.
