In cooperative game theory the players want to share the gains which are the result of their cooperation. Each of the players wants a result which is as good as possible. In this paper we first give a survey of several well-known solution concepts. In a second part we define the generalized nucleolus and show that this solution can be found by a sequence of linear programming problems. This part offers a unified approach to and generalises a wide range of solution concepts.
