Resumen de Programa de jardinería para adultos mayores institucionalizados con deterioro cognitivo

  Introducción: tras varias entrevistas a nuestros pacientes vimos la necesidad de crear un programa/taller de jardinería en el cual nuestros pacientes pudieran crear y cuidar un jardín o huerto. Con el objetivo principal de mejorar la integración de nuestros pacientes y fomentar la socialización. Métodos: se realizó sobre unos palots, adaptados en altura. Allí se plantó lo consensuado por nuestros pacientes. Usamos herramientas adaptadas para el cultivo y planeamos otras actividades relacionadas con el huerto/jardín. Conclusión: los pacientes se sintieron muy integrados durante el programa y les agradó mucho su realización. Disfrutaron mucho con el proyecto y hubo una gran armonía entre ellos, se sintieron independientes en la actividad y por tanto aumentó su autoestima. Los resultados del programa fueron positivos, los pacientes se involucraron mucho y demandaron nuevos programas. Los objetivos del proyecto se cumplieron con gran éxito y el programa de jardinería llevamos haciéndolo 5 veranos en nuestro centro.

  Introduction: after several interviews with our patients, we appreciated the need to develop a gardening project where our patients could create and care a garden or vegetables patch. The objective was to improve integration and socialization of our patients. Methods: we made the gardening over wooden boxes to adapt in height. The plantation was agreed by our patients. We used adapts tools for gardening. We also planned different activities related to the garden/vegetable patch. Conclusión: patients demonstrated an improvement of their integration within their group. They enjoyed the project, showed great harmony each others,felt independent during the activity so it also improved their self esteem. The results of the programs were positives, patients were really involved and they asked for new programs. The projects objectives were accomplished with great success and the garden program still doing during last five summers in our center.
