Resumen de Aproximaciones al modelo político-electoral de la Constitución cubana de 2019

El artículo analiza el modelo político-electoral de la Constitución cubana de 2019 en términos de ruptura o continuidad respecto a su antecesora, la Constitución de 1976. Los rasgos del modelo político-electoral cubano se definieron en la Constitución de 1976 con características sui generis respecto del resto de los modelos político-electorales establecidos en el constitucionalismo moderno, y siguieron una tradición de los Estados del antiguo campo socialista europeo que responde a un modo de entender la democracia y la participación política. En tal sentido, el artículo indaga en cuánto influyen las transformaciones en la estructura y funcionamiento del Estado en la Constitución de 2019 a romper o consolidar una visión del sistema político que tiene sus antecedentes más remotos en el constitucionalismo soviético.

The article analyzes the political-electoral model of the Cuban Constitution of 2019 in terms of rupture or continuity with respect to its predecessor, the 1976 Constitution. The features of the Cuban political-electoral model were defined in the 1976 Constitution with sui generis characteristics regarding of the rest of the politicalelectoral models established in modern constitutionalism, and they followed a tradition of the States of the old European socialist field that responds to a way of understanding democracy and political participation. In this sense, the article explores how much the transformations in the structure and functioning of the State in the Constitution of 2019 influence to break or consolidate a vision of the political system that has its most remote antecedents in the Soviet constitutionalism.
