  • Lyme disease is transmitted to humans by the bite from a tick belonging to the genus Ixodes infected by Borrelia burgdorferi, often when walking in a forest. Pharmacies must remind the public of preventive measures. Starting treatment in the very early stages of the disease is the most effective way of reducing the duration of the symptoms and avoiding the occurrence of disabling complications.
