Resumen de Músicas nómades: demarcaciones corporales de la sonoridad en la experiencia migrante. Avances de investigación

  En el marco del proyecto de investigación “Vidas cotidianas en emergencia: territorio, habitantes y prácticas”, indagamos sobre los usos sociales e inscripciones corporales de la sonoridad y la música, por parte de la población latinoamericana inmigrante en Santiago de Chile. Este artículo da cuenta de algunos de sus avances conceptuales, metodológicos y de terreno, en función de tres hipótesis: a) que las sonoridades y las distintas prácticas de uso y escucha musical participan de la producción de auto-comprensiones individuales y de demarcaciones corporales; b) que esas prácticas contribuyen a hacer concebible la experiencia migratoria; y c) que ellas contribuyen a hacer comprensible y manejable la vida en el nuevo territorio. El artículo muestra los argumentos conceptuales que sustentan las tres hipótesis, la reflexión metodológica que hay tras ellas y el despliegue empírico implicado en su puesta a prueba.

  This paper is part of the research project “The everyday life in the emergency: territory, inhabitants and practices”, and it’s  focused  on  the  inquiry  about  the  social  uses  of  sound  and  music  by  the  Latin  American  immigrant  population  in Santiago de Chile. The aim is to describe some of the conceptual, methodological and empirical advances produced by the research team starting from three main hypothesis about the function of music and different kinds of sonority: a) first, they assist in the production of self-understandings and personal boundaries; b) second, they play a role to make conceivable the immigrant experience, and; c) third, they contribute to make comprehensible and manageable life in the new territory. We show the conceptual arguments that support the three hypotheses, the methodological reflection behind them and the empirical deployment involved in its testing.
