Resumen de Construcción social de las emociones, hermenéutica y antropocentrismo: hacia un naturalismo antipositivista

El enfoque constructivista social ha establecido la importancia de la sociedad y de la cultura en el estudio científico de las emociones. Pero reconocer la relevancia de los niveles social y cultural en la explicación de las emociones no nos compromete a aceptar la base ontológica y epistemológica del constructivismo social. En este artículo, trato de argumentar i) que la perspectiva constructivista social de las emociones es una variante de ciencia hermenéutica del hombre; ii) que una ciencia hermenéutica del hombre reposa sobre presupuestos ontológicos y epistemológicos antropocéntricos incompatibles con los desafíos de sostenibilidad que plantean los límites planetarios al crecimiento económico y demográfico; y iii) que una alternativa a la hermenéutica (a fortiori al constructivismo social) y a sus presupuestos antropocéntricos es un naturalismo antipositivista.

The social constructonist view has established the significance of society and culture for the scientific study of emotions. But acknowledging the relevance of the social and cultural levels in the explanation of emotions does not commit us to the ontological and epistemological basis of social constructonism. In this artcle, I argue i) that the social constructonist view of emotions is a variety of hermeneutical human science; ii) that hermeneutical human sciences lie on anthropocentric ontological and epistemological assumptions that are ultimately incompatible with the sustainability challenges posed by the planet’s limits to economical and demographic growth; and iii) that an alternative to hermeneutics (a fortori to social constructonism) and its anthropocentric assumptions is an antipositivist naturalism.
