Resumen de Lorca en la Restauración (1875-1923). Evolución económica y social

Este artículo analiza aspectos de carácter económico y social de la Lorca del periodo de la Restauración, una etapa que trajo consigo novedades en muchos ámbitos. Las desvinculaciones y desamortizaciones, los cambios en la propiedad de la tierra, el auge de lo urbano, la mejora de las comunicaciones, la llegada del ferrocarril y la construcción de la nueva presa de Puentes, entre otros, produjeron avances significativos que tuvieron su reflejo en la dispar sociedad lorquina, de grandes contrastes y diferencias entre la nueva burguesía y las clases populares. El comercio, la industria, la cultura, la enseñanza, la Semana Santa, ... y muchos de sus protagonistas, son el hilo conductor de esta visión de la ciudad y de su devenir durante este amplio periodo que abarca casi 50 años de la historia contemporánea lorquina.

This article analyzes economic and social aspects of the Lorca of the Restoration period, a stage that brought novelties in many areas. The disengagements and disentailments, the changes in the ownership of the land, the rise of the urban, the improvement of communications, the arrival of the railroad and the construction of the new dam of Puentes, among others, produced significant advances that had their reflection in the disparate society of Lorca, of great contrasts and differences between the new bourgeois society and the rest of the popular classes. Trade, industry, culture, education, Holy Week, etc., and many of its protagonists, are the guiding thread of this vision of the city and its evolution during this broad period that covers almost 50 years of the contemporary history lorquina.
