    En este artículo hacemos un análisis comparativo de la desigualdad salarial que existe en la industria manufacturera de los estados que colindan en la zona fronteriza entre México y los Estados Unidos. Para lo cual realizamos un estudio de la desigualdad de los salarios, en los estados del lado mexicano: Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo león y Tamaulipas; y en los estados del lado estadounidense: California, Arizona, Nuevo México y Texas. Para llevar a cabo este análisis utilizamos la metodología desarrollada por Shorrocks (1982; 2012). De acuerdo con nuestros resultados, encontramos que es sobre todo la desigualdad al interior de los estados la que explica esta reducción de la desigualdad.AbstractIn this article we make a comparative analysis of the wage inequality that exists in the manufacturing industry of the neighboring states in the border area between Mexico and the United States. For which we conducted a study of the inequality of wages, in the states of the Mexican side: Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas; and in the US states of: California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. To carry out this analysis we use the methodology developed by Shorrocks (1982, 2012).
