    Documentamos las diferentes manifestaciones festivo-religiosas del ciclo de invierno, centrando nuestro estudio en la Navidad, conocidas también como Pascuas en Lorca, a partir de principios del XIX, según las fuentes impresas e informativas prioritariamente, reseñando los distintos festejos tradicionales desarrollados durante estos años: misas de gozo, romerías, aguilandos, bailes y representaciones de Reyes, teatro de escarnio, etc. También los grupos festivos que los animaban, principalmente cuadrillas y hermandades, así como los personajes humanos más destacados que las sustentaban, ya que con su quehacer posibilitaban lo festivo y daban sentido a muchos de estos ritos, que durante las dos últimas centurias contribuyeron a la conservación del patrimonio inmaterial de muchas de las tradiciones navideñas, hoy en día lamentablemente desaparecidas de la cultura popular, no siempre bien vista ni entendida.

    The documentation of the different wintry festive and religious manifestations, focusing on Christmas, also known as “Pascuas” in Lorca, from the beginning of the 19th century, according to the printed informative sources mainly describing all the traditional festivities during these years: “gozo” mass, pilgrimages, Christmas tips, dances, Three Wise Men representations or Epiphany play, “escarnio” theater, etc. We have also described the festive groups that cheered up them, mainly bands and brotherhoods, as well as the most outstanding personalities who supported them: thanks to their duty they made possible all the festivities and gave sense to most of these rituals that have contributed, during the last two centuries, to the conservation of the immaterial heritage of many of these Christmas customs, nowadays unfortunately dissappeared from the popular culture, not always considered correct or understood.
