En este trabajo se analiza el proceso judicial por el mayorazgo de Mairenilla (1622-1623), conservado en la Real Audiencia de Sevilla, en el que participaron seis litigantes. El pleito se originó al fallecer sin descendencia Íñigo Fernández de Córdoba y Mejía, último poseedor. Tras su muerte, los litigantes manifestaron su derecho al mayorazgo señalando diferentes líneas de descendencia de las que provenían. El estudio del pleito permite analizar los principios de la institución, los mecanismos de defensas, las motivaciones de los pleiteantes, los argumentos y los puntos de fractura. Por otra parte, este conflicto muestra el papel que jugaron las mujeres, ya que la única litigante femenina participó activamente en el litigio.

In this paper we analyze the judicial process by the Entailed estate of Mairenilla (1622-1623), conserved in the Royal Audience of Seville, which involved six litigants. The lawsuit originated to die without offspring Íñigo Fernández de Córdoba and Mejia, last keeper. After his death, litigants expressed their right to Entailed estate noting different lines of descent from which they had come. The study of the lawsuit allows to analyze the principles of the institution, the mechanisms of defenses, the motivations of the litigants, the arguments and the points of fracture. On the other hand, this conflict shows the role played by women, since the only female litigant actively participated in the lawsuit.
