Resumen de El enfoque hacia el estudio de las particularidades locales en la evolución arquitectónica de las iglesias de los pueblos de indios del Altiplano Cundiboyacense entre mediados del siglo XVI y el siglo XIX

Las particularidades locales de cada bien de interés cultural y su contexto nutren su consideración como patrimonio, y permiten acercarse a reconocer la realidad del objeto y su evolución en el tiempo, marcando las diferencias entre ellos. Esto motivó el estudio de la evolución de las iglesias de pueblos de indios del Altiplano Cundiboyacense, a través de un enfoque histórico-tecnológico que parte del estudio de la materialidad, a la luz de las coyunturas de su contexto entre finales del siglo XVI y el XIX. A partir de las fuentes documentales de archivo, la comprensión de su contexto espacial e histórico y su confrontación en sitio, se identificaron las variables de su concepción y construcción, esenciales en su interpretación como evidencia y huella de diferentes momentos que las hacen un conjunto no homogéneo. Se dedujeron siete etapas arquitectónicas relacionadas con las transformaciones de su contexto específico, con énfasis en los fenómenos locales, para determinar la amplitud y diversidad del patrimonio local cuando se logra profundizar la mirada más allá de los referentes generales, foráneos o estilísticos, al enfocarse en las particularidades del sitio. De allí se concluyó que el entender las edificaciones como resultado de fenómenos y condiciones particulares del contexto local, y no solo el de referentes foráneos, es fundamental en la interpretación y la conservación del patrimonio, pues es de allí que se deducen sus diferencias y aquello que las hace únicas.

The local particularities in each cultural asset and its context have a bearing on its recognition as a cultural heritage and allow to examine closely the reality of the cultural object(s) and its evolution throughout the time and to demarcate the differences involved. This fact encouraged the study of the evolution of the churches in the Cundinamarca-Boyacá Tableland indigenous towns under a historic-technological approach. This work starts by studying the materiality through the lens of the contextual conjunctions between the 16th-century ending and the 19th century. Based on the documentary file sources, the understanding of both the spatial and historic context, and in situ comparisons, their conceiving and building variables were identified. These variables are essential when interpreting the churches as evidence and traces of the different moments making them a non-homogeneous set. Seven architectonic stages were deduced in relation to their specific context transformations by putting emphasis on the local phenomena. All this allows determining the broadness and diversity of the local heritage after studying it in depth, beyond the general, foreign or stylish references and focusing on the site particularities. A conclusion is drawn that understanding the buildings as a result of the phenomena and conditions particular to the local context, not just of the foreign references, is pivotal when interpreting and preserving the cultural heritage because this way one can deduce their differences and the traits making unique each of these pieces.
