  Este texto muestra, a partir de un caso particular, la pertinencia del estudio material de las marcas del papel para una historia social de la justicia en la Monarquía Hispánica. Interroga la complementariedad entre un caso judicial de 1800 sobre la alteración de escrituras notariales santiaguinos y el análisis material de escrituras públicas entre 1684 y 1715. Invita a complejizar la valoración y los significados sociales de estos documentos.

  Through a case study, this text shows the relevance of material study of marks of paper in the field of the social history of justice duringthe Spanish Monarchy. It examines the complementarity between a judicial case about the alteration of notarial records of Santiago de Chile in 1800, and the material analysis of several public writings between 1684 and 1715, to high light the social value and meaning of these documents.
