  El presente artículo plantea la conveniencia y la necesidad de la educación en valores en el ámbito de la educación superior. Para realizar esta misión, las universidades no deben comprenderse sólo como organizaciones, sino también como instituciones que infunden en sus entornos valores que van más allá de los requisitos técnicos de la tarea que les ocupa. Esta visión es acorde con la tradición educativa jesuita, que ha sido actualizada al identificarse cuatro objetivos finales: utilidad, justicia, humanidad y fe.

  This article raises the desirability and necessity of values in the field of higher education. In order to accomplish this mission, universities should not only be understood as organizations, but also as institutions that infuse into their environments values that go beyond the technical requirements of the task at hand. This vision is in line with the Jesuit educational tradition, which has been updated by identifying four final objectives: utility, justice, humanity and faith.
