Inquisición y lucha contra la herejía en la Orden de Predicadores

    Con este estudio intentamos poner de relieve, a partir de la historia, el nacimiento de la inquisición para luchar contra la herejía cátara o albigense y las acusaciones que se hicieron, no sólo a los dominicos en general, sino de manera especial a Domingo de Guzmán fundador de la orden de los Dominicos inquisidores, cuando aún no existía dicha institución. Sin conocer cuál fue su intervención en la lucha contra esta herejía, posteriormente tan cruel y deshumanizada, se han dicho muchas inexactitudes. En 1231 el Papa Gregorio IX creó la Inquisición pontificia o la Inquisición papal a través de la bula papal Excommunicamus. Siguiendo la evolución y la repercusión que ha tenido, ponemos de manifiesto: el papel de la traducción en la difusión de algunos documentos, las consecuencias que tuvo para España la "creación" de la inquisición en la época de los Reyes Católicos y en siglos posteriores, y la actuación de Fr. Tomás de Torquemada.

    The study intends to reveal, from history, the birth of the Inquisition to fight the Cathar or Albigensian heresy and the accusations that were made, not only to the Dominicans in general, but especially to Domingo de Guzman, founder of the Dominican order of inquisitors, when there was no such institution. Without knowing what was his involvement in the fight against this heresy, then so cruel and dehumanized, many inaccuracies have been said. In 1231 Pope Gregory IX created the Pontifical Inquisition or the Papal Inquisition through the papal bull Excommunicamus. Following the evolution and the impact it has had, we highlight: the role of translation in the spreading of some documents, the consequences for Spain of the “creation” of the inquisition at the time of the Catholic Monarchs and in later centuries, and the performance of Fr. Tomas de Torquemada.
