The social and cultural policies changes that came with the Spanish transitio favored the spread of the sculptural language of Oteiza and Chillida throughout the Basque Country as an icon of Basque identity and a new era. The hypothesis of the article is that this popular imaginary and the collective memory derived from it was related to masculine values.
