El presente artículo pretende recopilar y hacer de manera sintética una historia sobre la fundación e historia de la institución católica de estudios bíblicos más importante: la Escuela Bíblica de Jerusalén. Fundada en 1890 por el fraile dominico M-Joseph Lagrange OP, sobre las ruinas de la basílica paleocristiana en el s. IV mandada construir por la emperatriz Eudosia para albergar la tumba de San Esteban, la Escuela Bíblica no sólo ha supuesto un hito en la historia de la investigaciín bíblica, sino un paso al frente en la comprensión y papel que juega la Biblia como Palabra de Dios en la Revelación.

The Bible as Word of God, is one of the constitutive pillars of the charism of preaching. Therefore, no Word no Order of Preachers. The 800 year life of the Order of Preachers are marked by people and institutions around the Word of God. Among these institutions, there is one that shines with its own light: L’École biblique et archéologique française de Jerusalén (EBAF). Founded by Fr. Lagrange in 1890 upon the ruins where Christian tradition places the martyrdom of St. Stephen, it has been from its origind reference point in the study of the Bible. I am going to make this presentation about the origins, history and present of the EBAF.
