    Este artículo constituye uno de los productos del proyecto de investigación “Estudio sobre la Excelencia del Profesorado de Posgrado de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México”, en el que la Universidad de Colima participa como colaboradora invitada junto con otras universidades1. El objetivo que persigue este trabajo es analizar las concepciones sobre ética y su relación con la excelencia docente del profesorado perteneciente al campo de las humanidades.

    A partir de lo anterior, surgen los siguientes interrogantes: ¿Qué relación existe entre ética y educación en el contexto universitario? ¿Cómo defi ne el profesorado de humanidades la ética y en qué sentidos la relaciona con la excelencia docente? Para abordar dichas cuestiones se seleccionaron las entrevistas realizadas a docentes con una trayectoria relevante en las áreas de Filosofía, Letras e Historia, colaboradores/as en diferentes programas de posgrado de la Universidad de Colima;

    asimismo, se examinó la dimensión ética, los valores y el perfi l docente del modelo educativo de la citada universidad. Se eligieron las entrevistas realizadas a profesoras/es en humanidades porque fueron quienes pensaron con mayor profundidad sobre las cuestiones éticas. En los resultados se muestran los vínculos entre ética y excelencia docente desde la mirada de los sujetos entrevistados.

    This article is one of the products of the research project “Study on the Excellence of Postgraduate Teaching Staff in the National Autonomous University of Mexico”, in which the University of Colima participates as a guest collaborator along with other universities. The objective aimed by this work is to analyze the conceptions about ethics and their relationship with the teaching excellence of teachers belonging to the fi eld of humanities. From the above, the following questions arise: What is the relationship between ethics and education in the university context? How does the humanities teacher defi ne ethics and in what ways does it relate to teaching excellence? To address these issues, there were selected interviews with teachers with a relevant background in the areas of Philosophy, Literature and History, collaborators in different postgraduate programs at the University of Colima; likewise, the ethical dimension, the values and the teaching profi le of the educational model of the aforementioned university were examined. The interviews with teachers in the humanities were chosen because they were the ones who thought in greater depth on ethical issues. The results show the links between ethics and teaching excellence from the perspective of the subjects interviewed.
