El artículo pretende explorar la relación entre el Paradigma indiciario, modelo epistemológico emergente durante el siglo XIX, y la novela de la misma época. En concreto, se centra en Fortunata y Jacinta de Benito Pérez Galdós, donde se trata de ver esta relación en función del objetivo epistemológico de la novela realista: el conjunto de la sociedad. Para ello se observa cómo el Paradigma indiciario se entrelaza con otros modelos de conocimiento creando una trama reveladora del plan o ideología de la novela.

In this article, we aim to explore the relationship between the Indiciary Paradigm, epistemological model that emerged during the 19th century, and the novel genre of the time. In particular, we focus on Fortunata y Jacinta by Benito Pérez Galdós, where we consider this relationship according to the epistemological objective of the realist novel: society as a whole. To this end, we analyze how the Indiciary Paradigm is intertwined with other models of knowledge, creating a weave that reveals the novel’s plan or ideology
