  El artículo reseña la situación de la unión de hecho estable o unión concubinaria en el ordenamiento jurídico venezolano. Para ello se ofrece una breve noción del concubinato, así como su referencia en el Código Civil y en el texto constitucional de 1999. De igual manera se incluyen las decisiones más relevantes de la Sala Constitucional del Tribunal Supremo de Justicia sobre la materia, así como el tratamiento de la figura en la Ley Orgánica de Registro Civil. Se trata de un tópico ampliamente tratado por la doctrina venezolana, particularmente a raíz de la constitucionalización de dicho instituto del Derecho de Familia

  The article outlines the situation of common-law marriage or consensual union under the Venezuelan legal system. To this end, it provides a brief description of cohabitation, as well as its reference in the Civil Code and the Constitution of 1999. In addition, it includes the most relevant case law of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice on the matter, along with its treatment under the Organic Law on the Civil Registry. It has been a topic extensively addressed by the Venezuelan doctrine, particularly due to the constitutional status given to such institution of Family Law.
