El autor hace un recorrido histórico por los textos litúrgicos que presentan la intercesión de la Iglesia por los cristianos perseguidos y cautivos, en tradición ininterrumpida que se remonta a la Iglesia apostólica. Concretamente analiza tres «Misas por diversas necesidades» explicando el significado original de cada uno de los términos, muy especialmente de «captivus» (cautivo).
The author reviews the history of the liturgical texts that present the intercession of the Church for persecuted and captive Christians, in an uninterrupted tradition that goes back to the Apostolic Church.
Specifically, it analyses three «Masses for Various Needs and Occasions» explaining the original meaning of each of the terms, especially «captivus» (captive).
