Aspetti lessicali delle decisioni dell'Unione Europea

    The essay focuses on the Italian versions of a corpus of decisions (a type of legislative act of the European Union), with the aim of investigating in depth mainly their lexical aspects. The majority of words come from language in common use, from the language of bureaucracy and from the language of economics and finance, with a minimal presence of technical legal terms and Latin words (the aulic element represented by microsyntactic technical terms has also decreased). One element is chiefly revealed; in spite of the fact that the texts examined cannot be considered as translations from English, the influence of the main working language of the European Parlament can be clearly perceived, not so much for the loan words and calques that it determines, as for its impact on the way in which words are formed and on syntactic constructions (as in the case of relative phrases with the verb ‘essere’, that previously had never been part of the Italian legal style).

    Il contributo si sofferma sulle versioni in italiano di un corpus di decisioni (una tipologia di atto legislativo dell’Unione europea), con lo scopo di approfondirne prevalentemente gli aspetti lessicali. Per la maggior parte, i vocaboli risultano attinti dalla lingua comune, dal linguaggio burocratico e da quello economico-finanziario, con una ridotta presenza di tecnicismi giuridici e di latinismi (in declino anche la componente aulica rappresentata dai tecnicismi microsintattici). A emergere è soprattutto un dato: nonostante che i testi in esame non si possano considerare traduzioni dall’inglese, l’influsso della principale lingua di lavoro del Parlamento europeo è ben percepibile, non tanto per i prestiti e i calchi che determina, quanto per il condizionamento esercitato sui meccanismi di formazione delle parole e sulle costruzioni sintattiche (come nel caso delle relative col verbo essere, che non avevano mai fatto parte dello stile giuridico italiano).
