en el presente artículo se exploran el potencial y los límites de las propuestas teóricas de corte estructuralista (Mary Douglas y Kristeva) y fenomenológico (teorías del embodiment) para pensar el cuerpo en general, y el cuerpo muerto en particular. A lo largo del texto se trata de dar cuenta de la complejidad de la distinción (socialmente elaborada) entre lo vivo y lo muerto, y de mostrar en qué sentidos esta es pertinente para pensar la identidad más allá del umbral de muerte. Asimismo, se desarrollan lineamientos teóricos para la construcción de alternativas conceptuales para su análisis, basados en la crítica feminista a los conceptos de género, sexo, materia y naturaleza.

This paper inquires for the potential and limitations of structuralist-based (Mary Douglas and Julia Kristeva) and phenomenological (embodiment theories) theoretical proposals to think of the body in general, and of dead body in particular. Throughout the text, I aim to account for the complexity of the (socially crafted) distinction between the living and the dead, and to show in which dimensions it is suitable to think of identity beyond the threshold of death. Additionally, several theoretical guidelines are outlined to build conceptual alternatives for its analysis, based on the feminist criticism on notions of gender, sex, matter, and nature.
