En la obra de J. M. Briceño Guerrero anida la obra de su heterónimo Jonuel Brigue. Con este nombre escribió toda su obra literaria. Aquí hacemos un acercamiento de comprensión a esa parte de su obra a partir de su más reciente libro Cantos de mi majano. En Jonuel Brigue comenzamos a ver el olvido de los géneros y con ello una comprensión de la literatura como expresión de la vida. Su escritura se convirtió así en una apuesta por hacer de la palabra un homenaje a lo humano, y desde la palabra un sentido puro de lo que representaba para él vivir. Literatura y vida, literatura y poesía son caminos para trasegar lo aprendido.

In the work of J. M. Briceño Guerrero nests the work of his heteronym Jonuel Brigue—the name heused in his whole literary work. Here we approach the understanding of this part of his work onthe basis of his most recent book, Cantos de mi majano. In Jonuel Brigue we appreciate a neglectof genres and thus an understanding of literature as an expression of life. His writing thusbecame a bet for making of the word homage to what being human means, and for making on thebasis of the word a pure sense of what living meant to him. Literature and life, literature andpoetry, are the paths on which what is learned strolls.
