    El presente estudio se centra en el estudio de las formas y funciones de lo mítico reelaborado en las novelas de los máximos exponentes de la vanguardia española. Se muestra cómo el recurso al mito es central en la configuración argumental y formal de los relatos. Aunque sometido a un constante juego subversivo cuya finalidad es doble: refundar la novela decimonónica aquejada de esclerosis y agotamiento y renovar la percepción de la realidad desbancando a los mitos de su pedestal de eternidad. encarnándolos y humanizándolos.

    In this study we consider the forms and functions or mythical reclaboration in the Avant-Garde Spanish novel. We show that mythical texts and figures are central to the development of the plot and structure of these novels. Although they are subject to a constant process of rewriting and subversión, which in itself has a two-fold aim: to recast the nineteenth-century novel, which founders between ossification and exhaustion, and to renew the perception of reality by toppling myths off their pedestals of eternity, fleshing them out and humanizing them.
