  El estudio se realiza en el área de soldadura en la Empresa Ciudad del Auto (CIAUTO) para el automóvil modelo cuatro (M4), donde se identifican las actividades en cada una de las siete estaciones de trabajo. En cada una de las estaciones, utilizando recursos audiovisuales, se hace: la medición, cálculo y registro de los tiempos normales, tiempos estándar utilizando como factor de desempeño de trabajo sobre la base de las tablas de Westinghouse, cálculo de los suplementos de trabajo, valores propios de la Empresa. Se obtuvo que 18191 segundos, un takt time de 2730 segundos con una demanda en ese período de 10 unidades. Con los tiempos estándar se realiza los diagramas de precedencia para con ellos determinar el balanceo de línea y la correspondiente asignación de trabajo con un total 10 personas, debido a que se tiene que realizar las operaciones sincrónicamente planificadas tanto en el lado derecho como izquierdo del auto.
