The baths of Hammam Essalihine in Algeria insist on a hot spring known by the Romans, who with Vespasian realized here an efficient system for the abduction and utilization of the waters, still in use today, originally aimed primarily to the cures of the soldiers from lambaesis and the Castra along the limes. Important structures still remain, partially obliterated by the modern thermal building, twenty inscriptions which prove the cohabitation among military and civilian, Romans and Berbers and the existence of syncretic cults practiced in the adjacent sanctuary, finally statues of Asclepius and Hygia, who were the main tutelary gods of these waters together with the Nymphs

Le terme di Hamman Essalihine in Algeria insistono su una sorgente termale conosciuta dai Romani, che con Vespasiano vi realizzarono un efficiente sistema di adduzione e sfruttamento delle acque, ancora in uso ai giorni nostri, e in origine destinato principalmente alle cure dei soldati provenienti da Lambaesis e dai castra lungo il limes. Rimangono delle importanti structure, in parte obliterate dalle construzioni della moderna stazione termale, una ventina di iscrizioni che provano la coesistenza fra militari e civili, Romani e Berberi e dei culti sincretici praticari nell'adiacentre santuario,infine statue di Esculapio e Igia che con le Ninfe erano le principali divinità tutelari di queste acque
