Movimientos sociales urbanos en la Ciudad de México en el siglo XXI. ¿Activismo encauzado al derecho versus acción prefigurativa?

    Los movimientos prefigurativos —grupos de acción colectiva interesados, no en tomar el poder del Estado, sino en construir un mundo diferente desde los márgenes— han devenido en un objeto de estudio central en el mundo. En este artículo indago si los movimientos sociales urbanos de la Ciudad de México han actualizado sus agendas con los nuevos principios globales. Se comparan objetivos y protocolos de acción de dos tipos de colectivos: movimientos emergentes que defienden un proyecto urbano propio o intentan detener una obra determinada, y agrupaciones que buscan satisfacer sus necesidades de vivienda y la producción de entornos urbanos dignos, calificados como viejos movimientos. Por lo regular, estas agrupaciones buscan un marco legal que respalde sus prácticas. ¿Esto contradice la política prefigurativa?

    Prefigurative movements —groups of collective action not interested in taking the power of the State, but in constructing a different world from the margins— have become a central object of study in the world. In this article I investigate whether the urban social movements of Mexico City have updated their agendas with these new global principles. I compare objectives and action protocols of two kinds of groups: emerging movements that defend their own urban project or try to stop a specific work, and groups that seek to satisfy their housing needs and the production of minimal urban environments, known as old movements. I observe that these groups regularly seek to build or wrap themselves up in a legal framework that supports their practices. Does this totally contradict the prefigurative policy?
