    In January 2019 (Futuribles 428), we began a series on the human brain, with the first dossier devoted mainly to what the cognitive sciences and neurosciences teach us about our capacities for lifelong learning. A second dossier appeared in July 2019 (issue431) on the plasticity of the brain, its anatomy and its capacity to modify its own functioning as it receives new experiences. This autumn, we open up a third strand on human-machine interactions and, more particularly, the impact of screen (TV, computers, mobile phones) on brain development and function, particularly among young people.

    Jean-Pierre Bellier, who took part in producing this third strand, introduces the subject by reminding us how far human-machine interactions have now developed and evolved, and by stressing a number of questions inherent in these interactions which will be treated in greater detail in the other articles in this new dossier.

    Futuribles a ouvert, en janvier 2019 (n° 428), une série sur le cerveau humain dont le premier dossier était principalement consacré à ce que nous enseignent les sciences cognitives et les neurosciences sur nos capacités d’apprentissage tout au long de la vie. Un deuxième dossier est paru en juillet 2019 (n° 431) sur la plasticité du cerveau, son anatomie et sa capacité à modifier son fonctionnement au fil des expériences vécues. Nous ouvrons cet automne un troisième volet consacré aux interactions homme / machines et, plus particulièrement, à l’impact des écrans (télévision, ordinateurs, téléphones portables) sur le développement et le fonctionnement du cerveau, notamment chez les jeunes.

    Jean-Pierre Bellier, qui a participé à la réalisation de ce troisième volet, introduit le sujet en rappelant comment se sont développées et ont évolué les interactions homme / machine, et en soulignant un certain nombre de questions inhérentes à ces interactions, qui seront abordées plus en détail dans les autres articles de ce nouveau dossier.
