    Con ocasión del I Seminario sobre Honorio III tenido en Roma y en el que Cencio Romanus había tenido mucha parte, la autora había dejado como en suspenso las propias reflexiones en torno a dos claves o interpretaciones de lectura. La primera: la idea de la continuidad en el actuar del funcionario, como camararius/cancellarius antes y como pontífice después, en la construcción de un recorrido programático orgánico y coherente que comprendía asimismo intervenciones de resignaficación material, y por tanto ideológica, de algunos fundamentales lugares de la Urbe. La segunda: la necesidad de mudar o enfocar, un poco más allá la vista, hacia el bienio 1188-1189 y de allí alargar el horizonte visivo. En tal óptica, entonces, el pontificado de Celestino III (1911-1997) resulta ser un punto de observación privilegiado para intentar de ampliar las perspectivas críticas. En particular, nos hemos concentrado sobre el Oratorio de Juan VII en San Pedro en el Vaticano, escriño, estuche del complejo andamiaje semántico, en el que el papa Bobone pone en escena tal vez una intrigante narración a través de imágenes de la misión de la Iglesia de Roma.

    On the occasion of the First Seminar on Honorius III, held in Rome, in which consideration of Cencio Romanus had such a prominent part, the Author expounded her own reflections on two interpretive keys. The first: the idea of continuity in the activity of this official, first as camerarius/cancellarius, and then as Pontiff, in putting together an organic and coherent programme, which included also material and ideological resignification of some fundamental sites in the City of Rome. The second: the need to look at a somewhat later time, at he two-year period 1188-1189, and to broaden the visual horizon. Thus the Pontificate of Celestine III (1191-1197) becomes a particularly useful vantage point for trying to enlarge the critical perspective. In particular, there is a focus on the Oratoty of John VII, at St. Peter's in the Vatican, repository of the complex semantic scaffolding , on which the Bobone Pope does perhaps set up an intriguing narrative-by-images of the mission of the Church of Rome.
