    Since its beginning, text linguistics has increasingly adopted the situational contexts surrounding texts and expanded its analysis accordingly. The connection to concepts of social science and social philosophy in particular has proven to be extremely productive. The systems-theoretical line of research of text linguistics, founded by (amongst others) Christina Gansel, is to be viewed similarly. In their introductions (2002, 2011) as well as in the accompanying anthologies (2009, 2011), Gansel et al. carried out constitutive classifications, and have reflected on the possibilities of combining systems theory and text linguistics. This article presents a critical reading of what has been achieved so far and aims to show a productive repositioning in working with systems theory and text linguistics.

    Seit ihrer Gründung hat sich die Textlinguistik zunehmend der die Texte umgebenden situativen Zusammenhänge angenommen und ihre Analysekategorien erweitert. Insbesondere der Anschluss an sozialwissenschaftliche und -philosophische Konzepte hat sich als äußerst produktiv erwiesen. In dieser Hinsicht ist auch der u. a. durch Christina Gansel begründete systemtheoretische Forschungsstrang der Textsortenlinguistik zu verstehen. In ihren Einführungen von 2009 und 2011 sowie den sie flankierenden Sammelbänden von 2008 und 2011 haben Gansel et al. konstitutive Bestimmungen z. B. eines systemtheoretischen Sprach‑, Text- und Textsortenbegriffes vorgenommen und die Möglichkeiten der Verbindung von Systemtheorie und Textsortenlinguistik reflektiert. Dieser Beitrag stellt eine kritische Lektüre des bisher Erreichten dar und will produktive Neupositionierungen des systemtheoretisch-textsortenlinguistischen Arbeitens aufzeigen.
