In the privileged position of founder of the PhD Course «Human Rights: Evolution, Protection and Limits» at the University of Palermo, the Author traces the evolution of the philosophical and legal research about human rights in the last twenty-five years starting from the dissertations produced. He highlights the growing interest in the collective and identity rights together with a deeper economic inequality. The essay represents also an opportunity to think about issues of great theoretical relevance, such as the crisis of the concept of citizenship.
