La naturaleza del conocimiento ha sido un problema central desde los inicios del pensamiento. Uno de los ejemplos más claros y seguros de conocimiento es la ciencia y la tecnología., que nos permite entender el mundo y transformarlo. Desde los inicios mismos de la revolución científica, en el siglo XVII, el conocimiento científico ha ido unido a la idea de progreso económico y social, por su capacidad de generar nuevas ideas o conceptos, que producen innovaciones que pueden modificar o transformar el mundo. Uno de los conceptos más innovadores del siglo XX ha sido el de “género”, cuya introducción en distintos ámbitos del saber ha permitido comprender que el acceso controlado a recursos y oportunidades está determinado socialmente por conductas, valores y actitudes, que no tienen que ver con el sexo biológico.

The introduction of gender in different areas of knowledge has facilitated the comprehension that the controlled access to resources and opportunities are socially determined by behaviours, values, and attitudes that have nothing to do with biological sex.
