Resumen de Estructura del Frente Surplrenaico en el sector central de la cuenca de Jaca-Pamplona

Belén Oliva Urcia, Héctor Alberto Millán Garrido, A. Casas Planes, Andrés Pocoví Juan

  • The structure of the Southern Pyrenean front to the West of the Aragonian External Sierras, is interpreted as an anticline detached at the Triassic. In the studied area, the structure is complicated by hinge collapses, usually associated with faulting within the Oligocene Campodarbe formation.

The main structure is the Sos anticline, wich can be traced along 45 kms. This detachment fold is limited to the north by a basement thrust which cross-cuts the sedimentary sequence from the Paleozoic to the Oligocene. In the western part, the folds in the Campodarbe formation are gentler. The amplitude of the detachment fold is smaller and there are two basement thrusts which cross-cut the Paleozoic basement. The shortening rate decreases from east to west
